Born in Jersey, largest of the Channel Islands, I started compiling and writing short stories from my seventh birthday. My inspiration was fed by a gift: The Wind in the Willows, which I read over and over and over. I read the book so many times Ratty and Toad, my favourite characters became my fictional best friends. Unfortunately spending a lifetime 'starving in an attic ' producing the written word was not an option, I had to earn a living. I couldn't start writing properly until after my 40th. I enrolled in a writing course and within weeks sold my first article. I have been freelancing ever since and am proud to have written for numerous international magazines and newspapers. Five years ago my husband and I decided to leave our Island home and relocate to historic Brittany. Brittany is a magical mixture of Arthurian legend, oral history and tradition...a perfect setting and atmosphere for short story writing and am currently working on a book of short stories. I am also compiling a book of vegetarian recipes.
