When did you start writing?1984 I started writing stories when I was about 7 or 8 years old, in France. As far as I can remember, I have always been passionate about stories, whether fiction or news on TV and newspapers.
What do you love about Short Stories?I love short stories because they can be powerful pieces and express in a few words what a novel would in 400 pages.
Do you write in other forms?Besides writing children's books, I am a professional journalist and so, I also write articles and Op-Eds for various newspapers and online magazines. Op-Eds are my favourite pieces.
What distracts you from writing?Alike most writers I suppose, I prefer to write at night when there is a little to no distraction at all.
Outside of writing, what are your other passions?I enjoy reading books to my children and invent stories for them too.
What is your favourite book?If we talk about children's books, I would say "Where the wild things are" by Maurice Sendak and "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson. If we talk about fiction books, I would say "Symbiote's Crown" by Scott Baker or "Les Fourmis" by French author Bernard Werber.
Who are your favourite writers?Herge (Tintin), Isaac Asimov and Bernard Werber
Where is your dream location?Somewhere in Quebec (Canada). Montreal or Quebec City, maybe.
What one item would you put into Room 101?Mosquitoes.
Do you have any advice for new writers?Read a lot before writing anything. Don't copy, just absorb like a sponge. Then, you will find your style.
